Seared Steaks

The plan for Valentine's Day is a steak dinner at home. There will be no crowds, no bothersome noises and no hefty bill at the end. Pick your steak of choice and pair it with your favorite veggies or a simple salad.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 steaks preferred cut
  • green beans or vegetable of choice for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • In small bowl, mix salt, pepper and smoked paprika then season steaks, front, back and sides. Let sit 30 minutes
  • Preheat oven to 450 F and heat skillet over high heat on stovetop
  • Sear each side of steaks (2 minutes for thicker steaks or 1 minute for thinner steaks)
  • If steaks have fat around edges, sear edges about 1 minute
  • Cook steaks in oven 5 minutes. Let rest 10 minutes then serve with green beans or side salad, if desired
