For those who fully embrace the Christmas spirit each year, hosting is the easy part. Visiting with loved ones, sharing a special meal and unwrapping gifts make memories that last a lifetime, but the end of a heartwarming gathering means the season has come to a close – almost.
Finish the festivities on a high note and keep the good vibes going into the new year with party favors that show your love and appreciation for those who made the journey to celebrate the season, whether it was just around the block or from across the country.
Stock up on miniature jars and decorative bows then send guests off with a final touch with these easy ideas.
- Breakfast to Go: After all the preparation that goes into holiday celebrations, cooking breakfast the next morning isn’t on the mind for most. Solve that problem for loved ones with to-go kits that include jarred jams and biscuits or scones neatly wrapped or boxed and adorned with a bow.
- Hot Chocolate Kits: Use miniature boxes to package everything needed for hot cocoa on the next cold day – cocoa powder, mini marshmallows and a thank you note.
- Candy Care Packages: Gather all those candy canes and wrap them in bundles of 3-5 with decorative ribbon or, even easier, red and green pipe cleaners.
- Homemade Ornaments: Let your artistic side shine (or get the kiddos involved) with homemade ornaments that make for perfect mementos. Carefully cut out circles or squares from stock paper and adorn with glitter, sparkles or a creative design.
- Festive Mason Jars: Create elf-like mason jars by wrapping them with green craft paper. Add a strip of black craft paper for the “belt” and make a small gold “buckle” then glue on small felt balls for the shirt “buttons.” Fill with holiday favorites like toasted pecans or candy.
