Feeling behind before school days even begin? Make breakfast a walk in the park with easy grab-and-go solutions or quick recipes that save valuable time when your loved ones are scattering to get ready for the classroom.

Prep at Night
Don’t wait until it’s time to head out the door for breakfast prep. While you’re working on dinner or finishing cleanup duty, measure out ingredients for the next morning and set out non-perishables you plan to use or send to school such as pancake mix, sliced bread for toast or fruit like bananas.

Consider Make-Ahead Meals
If you can’t afford to waste precious seconds with bread in the toaster or pancakes on the griddle, lean on breakfasts you can fully cook beforehand like breakfast burritos or casseroles. Prioritize making plenty for a full week so you can cook once and enjoy all five school days.

Send To-Go Options
Burritos and casseroles, even when made in advance, still need microwaved before they’re savored by your loved ones. For those extra hectic days when you’ll need to eat in the car, stock up on pantry staples like granola bars, muffins and fresh fruits.

Ask for Help
So long as your little ones are big enough to lend a hand in the kitchen, it’s not all on your shoulders to prep morning meals. Ask the kiddos to decide the night before what they’d like for breakfast the following morning and have them help prep ingredients or even prep their own breakfast – keep it simple with toast or cereal – to encourage independence and teach important life skills.
